JazzFest 2010 - Artist Line-Up - The Guffman Trio

The Guffman Trio began performing together in 2003 and have been featured at numerous festivals and venues throughout the Southeast in recent years.   Coming from diverse musical backgrounds, their eclectic sound consists of a blend of straight ahead jazz with blues, funk, Latin and folk to produce a mix sure to satisfy the taste of any listener.

Cynthia Domulot, from Hattiesburg, MS, has been performing as a pianist, clarinetist, percussionist and vocalist in the local area as well as throughout the U.S. and abroad for many years. She was a music director/band leader for Celebrity Cruises which included performing with many guest artists on the ship circuit. Over the years she has performed with artists such as saxophonist Plas Johnson, the Hal Galper Trio, the Cab Calloway Band, bassist Steve Gilmore of Phil Woods fame, former Stravinsky pianist and coach to the stars- Pearl Kauffman, pianist Elliot Finkel, vocalist/songwriter Billy Fellows, guitarist Ted Shumate, comedian/vocalist Jeannine Gardner, Stephen Sorrentino, former James Brown drummer John “Jabbo” Starks, Duke Ellington vocalist, Lil Greenwood, Pensacola Symphony and recently with Northwest Florida Symphony. She holds a B.A. in Instrumental Music Education and is currently on staff at Bailey Middle School in Pensacola, FL as a band/choral director and works as a freelance studio session player.

Tom Latenser, from Spokane, Washington, played and toured with the United States Air Force Band for twelve years traveling abroad extensively. He has performed with artists such as vocalist/pianist Diane Schuur, trombonist Bill Watrous, vibraphonist Bill Molenoff, musical comedian Pete Barbutti, and drummer Don Lamond to name a few. He holds a B.A. in Music Education and a Masters in Humanities and is currently on staff as an adjunct music professor at Northwest Florida State College and University of West Florida and teaches music part-time at Shalimar Elementary School. Besides many freelance gigs he performs regularly with the Emerald Coast Philharmonic and Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra.

Fred Domulot, from Groton, Connecticut, has played and toured with artists such as Pacific St. Records founder and pianist Eric Doney, bassist Will Lee, GRP artist Scott Jarrett, guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, pianist John Coliani, vocalist Kevin Mahogany, Blue Note artist Bob Dorough, bassist Roberto Vally, the Harry James orchestra featuring Art Depew, trombonist Phil Wilson, clarinetist Buddy DeFranco, Rich Matteson, bassist Steve Gilmore, Duke Ellington vocalist Lil Greenwood, trumpeter Longineu Parsons and the legendary Clark Terry. He is a prolific songwriter and lyricist and continues to collaborate with award winning songwriters from the East Coast and West Coast. He is currently on staff as an adjunct professor at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida, performs regularly with Northwest Florida Symphony and works as a freelance studio session musician. He is an exclusive Taye Drum endorsee.
